1. Who is The EDGE for? What ages can attend The EDGE?

The EDGE is designed for both students and youth leaders/workers. While there are no official age limits to attend The EDGE, we do discourage churches from bringing young children (as they can sometimes be a distraction to others in worship services). We consider “youth” to be 6th grade through 12th grade students. If your group needs to bring a small child, please call us in advance. You will have to pay full price for all children attending. Please contact us for further information.

2. What does it mean that deposits are “transferable” but not “refundable”?

The best way to understand this is to think about your deposits having no face or no name. If you send us 30 deposits, then you have reserved space for 30 people. It does not matter who those thirty people are. If Susie drops and Mark adds, you still have 30 and you don’t owe us any more deposit money. Mark simply takes Susie’s spot. However, if Susie drops and you do not replace her, you DO NOT get that deposit money back. It is non-refundable.

3. Have you thought about moving the event in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge to a place with a better worship center?

We have! Starting in the summer of 2007 we will now hold all “Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge” EDGE Events at The Grand Resort & Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. This move will not only provide us with better (and more spacious) worship facilities, but it will also allow everyone to stay in the same hotel, give us the opportunity to add new features (such as Bible studies and meals), and allow us to keep the price affordable. Anyone who has been at The EDGE in the past will appreciate this upgrade!

4. Have you ever considered having assigned seating in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge?

We have. But assigned seating is one of those gray areas that pleases some but not others. When dealing with large crowds we have found that you can never make everyone happy. But we want to try! So the assigned seating was considered, but with only four sessions it was next to impossible to get every group a “prime” seat in a worship service. It was also a real hassle to try and do it with two different worship groups in two different sessions. So for now we have decided not to assign seats. There really are no bad seats in the room; only seats that are not in the front.

5. Why don’t you have Bible studies in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge?

Until the summer of 2007 we have not been able to support Bible studies due to a lack of space. However, starting in the summer of 2007 we have moved all “Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge” events to The Grand Resort & Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. This move will allow us more space to add Bible study groups. So, check the information page for details.

6. Is there a continental breakfast at the hotels in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge?

No. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the convention center. In the future we may be able to offer this service, but for now you can enjoy the pancake house or donut shop of your choice.

7. Can I add students after I have registered?

Certainly. You may add students to the conference as long as the conference is not full. You simply pay the price for each student based on the date they register.

8. Can I bring my children to the conference?

We would love to have your children at the conference and make the opportunity for more adult chaperones to attend. However, every child takes up a space in the hotel and in the worship center. So, we have 2 options. Either make a rule that says no children. Or, charge full price for each child in attendance. We don’t really want to do either. So we ask that you consider our quandary and contact us if you must bring the little ones.

9. Can I get a room for my bus driver?

Sure. Simply give us a call and we will give you a rate for your bus driver’s room and we will set that up for you. You pay that fee as a part of your group’s registration.
